Foray

Discover & earn

Discover what’s next. Get rewarded for showing up.

Foray finds your next adventure, books it, and quietly turns every weekend you actually live into XP, badges, and a profile worth keeping. No logging. No check-ins. Just the receipt.

Discover

One swipe to find tonight’s plan. Curated near-me outings, live tickets from Ticketmaster and Eventbrite, and bookable experiences from Viator and GetYourGuide — all in one ranked feed. The “what should we do” question, answered before anyone gets hangry.

Diorama

Your avatar lives in a scene that evolves with you. Hike a ridge, eat at a partner spot, hit a third concert this month — your Diorama gains relics, terrain, and small inhabitants that mark what you’ve actually done. It’s the most fun part of having a profile.

Wall

A share-ready public profile of your level, relics, partner unlocks, and current quests. Worth posting because it’s earned — every badge points to something you actually went out and did. Receipts, not likes.

The effortless adventure loop

You go out. The app keeps the score.

  1. Plan or just go.

Book through Foray, or don’t — both count. Free outings, paid tickets, and spontaneous hikes all flow into the same timeline.

  2. We notice.

GPS, motion, and (optionally) health and calendar signals fuse on-device to detect what you actually did — with battery cost and privacy in mind. Photos and content never leave your phone.

  3. The receipt arrives.

One push when you’re home: XP earned, badges progressed, a relic added, and the next quest already queued within driving distance.

Adventures we already detect: hikes, runs, paddling, cycling, dining at partner venues, ticketed shows, multi-day trips. New activity types ship every sprint.

Jordan, NYC beta explorer, smiling on a sunlit ridge.

“Foray is the first app that made my Saturdays count for something \u2014 without me having to remember to log them. I check it the way I used to check Instagram, except I’m actually proud of what’s in there.”

Quick answers

Is this a fitness app?
No. Foray works for any kind of plan — dinners, shows, road trips, gallery openings, escape rooms. Workouts are detected if you opt in to HealthKit or Google Fit, but the loop is the same for a steakhouse.
Will my battery die?
We lean on iOS/Android’s significant-location and motion APIs first, and only escalate to live GPS during an active adventure window. Background detection costs battery on the order of music playing in your pocket.
What does Foray actually see?
Pointers, not pixels. The app keeps timestamps, route shapes, and metadata on your device, and sends evidence references — never your photos, never message content. You control which sources are on. You can turn passive detection off entirely and the rest of the app still works.
Do I have to deal with crypto?
Never. Some relics can be claimed as on-chain souvenirs if you want — most people never bother. The app is designed so you can have a great year of Foray without ever opening a wallet.
How much does it cost?
Free to join, free for free outings. Paid bookings cost what they’d cost on the partner site (we’re affiliated, not marked-up). A small premium tier with cosmetic and meta-game perks is coming after launch.
